FAQ
Who are you?
Please see our about page.
No, seriously, what are your credentials?
I have none other than being a devoted, crafty, and fun-loving mom who was raised by a devoted, crafty, and fun-loving woman who is now a devoted, crafty, and fun-loving grandma. That’s the point. Nothing here requires special skills or abilities, just a willingness to have fun and make messes with your child.
My child is disabled. Can he still do these projects?
Yes! Most of these projects were designed with an autistic child in mind, but many can be adapted to suit children with a wide range of disabilities. For example, a visually impaired child can experience the joys of helping to knead dough for cookies (and taste-testing them!), making a musical instrument from common household objects, or identifying shapes by touch. For children with developmental disabilities, hearing impairments, fine motor difficulty, or other learning problems, you will find these projects are especially well-suited to targeting valuable skills like motor planning, communication (including signing), sensory integration, and early learning skills (categorizing objects, identifying shapes and colors).
